GREEN LAUNDRY ORGANIZES FIRE PREVENTION AND FIGHTING TRAINING TO IMPROVE SAFETY SKILLS

Table of Contents

Safety is always the top priority in all production and business activities, especially for companies operating industrial machinery systems like Green Laundry. To raise awareness and skills among all employees, the company recently organized a Fire Prevention and Fighting (FPF) training program at the laundry facility. This activity demonstrates Green Laundry’s strong commitment to building a safe and professional working environment.

1. Objectives of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Training

The training program was designed with practical content closely aligned with the needs of industrial laundry operations. First, it equipped employees with fundamental knowledge about fire prevention and fighting, including common causes of fires in industrial environments, the potential dangers, and possible consequences if not controlled promptly.

In parallel, employees were guided on identifying and assessing fire hazards in each stage of production and laundry operations. This helps individuals develop the habit of observing, detecting risks early, and taking timely preventive measures, thereby minimizing incidents.

Beyond theory, the training emphasized practicing emergency response skills, particularly using fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other safety equipment. The hands-on exercises were designed to be practical, enabling employees to apply the skills immediately in case of an emergency, ensuring safety for both themselves and their colleagues.

More importantly, through this program, Green Laundry aims to enhance the proactive spirit and sense of responsibility of all employees in building a safe workplace—not only protecting assets and machinery but also safeguarding lives.

2.1. Theoretical Session

During the theoretical session, fire prevention officers directly presented and analyzed key topics to provide employees with a comprehensive understanding of fire safety in the workplace. Specifically:

  • Clarifying the most common causes of fires and explosions at production and service facilities, particularly in the industrial laundry sector, where large-scale electrical equipment and chemicals are frequently used.
  • Introducing current legal regulations related to fire prevention and fighting, thereby reinforcing awareness of compliance and responsibility at both individual and organizational levels.
  • Guiding the development of standardized FPF procedures tailored to industrial laundry environments to prevent risks and ensure long-term safety.
  • Officers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department provided essential fire safety knowledge.
Comrades from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team provide basic knowledge about fire prevention and rescue.

They highlighted that most fires today stem from electrical failures, negligence in handling fire or heat during cooking, and fuel-related accidents such as gasoline or vehicles. Therefore, fire prevention must be implemented seriously, not only through compliance but also through regular inspection and monitoring. Measures such as equipping and maintaining fire extinguishers, ensuring the quality of equipment, and arranging electrical systems and escape routes according to standards are crucial. If safety regulations are ignored, especially in residential areas or crowded facilities, fires can spread rapidly, becoming uncontrollable and causing severe damage.

In the event of a fire, it is essential to remain calm and immediately cut off the power supply. For small fires, available tools such as powder extinguishers, CO₂ extinguishers, sand, or wet blankets can be used. If the fire escalates, it is necessary to alert others nearby and call 114 (the fire emergency hotline) for assistance. When evacuating, employees must never hide in enclosed spaces such as closets, restrooms, or elevators. Instead, they should move in a low position, crouching or crawling, to reduce smoke inhalation, while covering the nose and mouth with a wet cloth to protect the respiratory system.

2.2. Practical Session

Following the theory, the program continued with hands-on training, allowing employees to practice skills directly. The simulated scenarios were designed to be realistic, including:

  • Practicing the use of different fire extinguishers, such as CO₂ and powder extinguishers to ensure quick and effective responses.
  • Practicing the operation of fire hoses to strengthen knowledge and handling ability in emergencies.
  • Handling specific fire situations such as electrical fires and chemical fires in the laundry workshop, helps employees remain calm and adaptable when facing danger.
  • Performing safe and systematic evacuation of people and assets to minimize damage and risks in emergency situations.

3. Significance of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Training

The FPF training activity at Green Laundry was not merely a compliance measure but carried practical and long-term value. Above all, it equipped employees with confidence and the ability to handle emergencies quickly and correctly. At the same time, it contributed to creating a safer working environment, reducing risks in operating machinery and handling chemicals, which are inherent in the industrial laundry sector.

Beyond the internal impact, the training also reinforced Green Laundry’s image as a professional, reputable, and socially responsible industrial laundry service provider. It underscored the company’s commitment to ensuring safety for customers, partners, and the broader community.

Green Laundry has always upheld the principle that “safety is the foundation of sustainable development.” Therefore, in addition to investing in modern machinery and high-quality services, the company consistently maintains periodic training on occupational safety and fire prevention. This is a clear demonstration of its long-term commitment to building trust and peace of mind for customers and partners.
